RFK Jr.: Hog Farmers More Dangerous than Osama Bin Laden

Finding this video and accompanying story in The Washington Times, I knew I had to show it to others WITH the video. Otherwise almost NOBODY would believe it.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday said he thinks hog farmers are a greater threat to Americans than Osama bin Laden.

Mr. Kennedy, son of the the slain New York Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, is an environmental law attorney who was testifying before a House Judiciary subcomittee when Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican, asked him if a quotation attributed to him in 2002 about hog farmers representing a greater threat than the leader of al Qaeda was accurate.

"I don't know if that [quotation] is accurate, but I believe it and I support it," said Mr. Kennedy, who has been involved in a vigorous legal effort against the meat industry for some years, arguing that manure and other products associated with large livestock producers emit toxic wastes that threaten the environment.

No wonder President Obama wants to cut the Defense budget by 10% and Democrats cheer.

All I have to say is, "Please, pass the barbecued pork. This made me hungry!"

Read the rest of the Washington Times piece and see the video there.

Obama Calling for Defense Budget Cuts

Last Friday, Fox News reported that the "Obama administration has asked the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff to cut the Pentagon's budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than 10 percent -- about $55 billion..."

Before that, President Obama signed an executive order that orders the Guantánamo Bay Detention Camp to be closed within a year.

It's clear that President Obama doesn't view national security as a priority. Everything else is going to grow. However, defense is going to be cut by 55 billion.

However, what continually surprises me is even after September 11, Democrats still don't understand:
  • that people want to really hurt us
  • that our enemies tend to target big cities or anything big
  • that for the most part, there are more Democrats living in big cities than there are Republicans (see the election results)
  • If we are attacked again, it is likely that there will be just as many, if not more, Democrats who will get hurt in the attack than Republicans
One would think that average Democrats would get these points and actually want to protect themselves and their families.

Too bad, they are listening to Democratic leaders and other liberals such as most of what passes for the media INSTEAD of using common sense.

Have more than two children? You are irresponsible!!!

Think that the political left is harmless?

In a piece in the Sunday Times, titled "Two children should be limit, says green guru", Sarah-Kate Templeton, Health Editor, writes:
COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

Yep, you read it right. In order to hold off Global Warming (a theory which is so in dispute -- check the temperature outside lately? check the amount of snow we have had this winter?), this British leader says that a family should limit themselves to TWO children! He further says that British society should encourage contraception and abortion.

Right now, it is merely a recommendation. But how long before they enforce it under penalty of law? Forced abortions like China? How long before it makes it to America?

Freedom? Methinks freedom ought to be registered under the Endangered Species Act.

The Sanctity of Human Life

On January 18th, Dr. Albert Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Seminary, delivered a sermon titled "The Sanctity of Human Life".

If you want to hear an extremely clear explanation why abortion should be unthinkable for anyone, you will definitely want to listen to or read this sermon.

Here Comes Socialism

Yeah, I know it's a column from a few weeks ago, but I thought that if anyone had missed it...

Dick Morris wrote a piece titled "The Obama Presidency: Here Comes Socialism".

I think it's something all Americans should read.

Judge President Obama on his performance

Juan Williams, considered to be a political liberal, wrote an excellent piece in the Wall Street Journal.

It is neither overweening emotion nor partisanship to see King's moral universe bending toward justice in the act of the first non-white man taking the oath of the presidency. But now that this moment has arrived, there is a question: How shall we judge our new leader?

If his presidency is to represent the full power of the idea that black Americans are just like everyone else -- fully human and fully capable of intellect, courage and patriotism -- then Barack Obama has to be subject to the same rough and tumble of political criticism experienced by his predecessors. To treat the first black president as if he is a fragile flower is certain to hobble him. It is also to waste a tremendous opportunity for improving race relations by doing away with stereotypes and seeing the potential in all Americans.

Yet there is fear, especially among black people, that criticism of him or any of his failures might be twisted into evidence that people of color cannot effectively lead. That amounts to wasting time and energy reacting to hateful stereotypes. It also leads to treating all criticism of Mr. Obama, whether legitimate, wrong-headed or even mean-spirited, as racist.

There is always the filibuster. Right?

Speaking about the average American conservative is ready to handle the next four years as conservatives prepare to unseat the then-President Obama and the Democrats in BOTH Houses of Congress, Quin Hillyer writes:
Too many conservatives think we've seen all this before -- in 1964 and 1974 and 1992 -- and that we know how to handle it. Fly, meet ointment: We're not dealing with the same sorts of opponents. These New Alinskyites who are taking over the White House, combined with the most leftist congressional leadership in memory, will not let us play by the same rules under which conservatives recovered from those earlier debacles. They will try to drastically tilt the playing field, seed our side of the field with land mines and, in short, rig the process to make it next to impossible for the political right, or Republicans, to recover. And they are likely to succeed in at least some of these designs.

Obama: I will bankrupt the coal industry and the cost of electricity will soar

Yep, it's Election Day in the United States. And wouldn't you just know it, the San Francisco Chronicle alerted America that they had video of Senator Obama from January. When did the Chronicle do this? This weekend.

What did the video show? Not much. It simply has Senator Obama say that he will make it cost prohibitive to use coal. (You know coal is one of the chief ways that America produces electricity.)

Senator Obama says the price of electricity will "skyrocket" (his description, not ours).

It's a good thing that hardly anything runs on electricity. Don't worry, though. If things gets too much for us, we could get away from it all for awhile. Get into our hybrid automobiles that a lot of us saved up for and . . . .

Obama salutes Hillary Clinton and McCain (with one finger)

Remember when you were young, say about eleven or twelve years old, and you or one of the other kids wanted to show utter disrespect to a grown-up.

You already know what I am going to say, right? While talking (or even seemingly showing great respect) to the grown-up, the middle finger goes up either slightly disguised or behind the back of the grown-up.

Well, even though he has showered praises upon Hillary Clinton (his opponent in the primaries) and John McCain (his opponent in the general election), Senator Obama has given BOTH of his opponents "the" finger, "the bird" or "the one-finger salute".

In my opinion, the willingness publicly to give his political opponents the finger shows:
  1. Senator Obama is able to and perfectly willing to wax eloquently on a subject (in these cases, praising his opponents) even when he certainly doesn't mean a word of it (or in these cases, he believes exactly the opposite).
  2. Senator Obama has utter contempt for his political opponents (and I would dare say also for the people who support his opponents).
  3. Far from being gracious, above all of the pettiness, dignified, distinguished, respectful, stately, and so on, Senator Obama himself has demonstrated that he is just the opposite.
  4. Far from wanting to bring out the very best in those that he leads, Senator Obama seems to ridicule those that oppose him (in very crass and juvenile forms) and wants others to follow his example.
First, I will show his "dissing" Senator Clinton and then his "dissing" Senator McCain.

Watching him in these videos, there should be ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that this is exactly what Senator Obama is doing. Watch his attitude as he gives Hillary the finger.

I literally had a sick feeling as I saw it. It reminded me of my childhood watching the other kids mocking teachers or neighbors. I do not think of the next President of the United States, the leader of the free world.

And now Senator Obama flipping Senator McCain off.

Such arrogance.

Are you a right-wing extremist? (test)

The Right-Wing Extremist Test

If you watch a lot of TV like I do, you are bound to have come across people who talk about the Right-Wing or even Right-Wing Extremists. If you are like me, you really don’t want to be an extremist because it is (what’s the word, oh!) EXTREME!

Now, I have created a test that determines whether you are normal person or you are a Right-Wing Extremist.

1. If you see a pregnant woman’s ultrasound, do you:
a) strongly urge the woman to call Planned Parenthood to schedule an abortion?
b) say something like, “Awwwwwwwwwwww, isn’t she just the cutest thing. She’s even sucking her little thumb”?

2. If you see a tiny baby in a hospital or clinic who is in need of medical attention and is unattended, do you:
a) ignore him or her until he or she dies then throw the body into the garbage?
b) immediately get medical help for the baby in hopes of saving his or her life?

3. If you see a man dressed in a tuxedo in a wedding ceremony, do you:
a) naturally look for the man he is going to marry and upon seeing him, you smile?
b) naturally look for the bride (a woman) he is going to marry and upon seeing her, you smile?

4. If you hear that your neighborhood school is having its annual Christmas program in which the children sing Christmas carols the week before Christmas, do you:
a) immediately call the ACLU to help you sue the school?
b) wish you could come because you just love Jingle Bells and Silent Night?

5. If you see a man dressed in his military uniform, is your first thought to:
a) accuse him of war crimes and to spit on him?
b) thank him for his willingness to defend the United States and offer to buy his meal?

6. If you hear a politician talk favorably about “spreading the wealth around” or “making the rich pay their fair share”, you:
a) can’t wait to vote for him?
b) think “There’s definitely something wrong there. If the government can take the money and property of the rich, the government can take MY money and property and give it to other people”?

============== ASSESSMENT ===============

If you answer (a) for any or all of the questions, the Democratic Party considers you normal. You should be registered as a Democrat and vote for Democratic candidates.

However, if you answer (b) for any or all of the questions, the Democratic Party considers you a Right-Wing nut and extremist. You should be registered as a Republican and vote FOR Republican candidates.

So what's wrong with Socialism anyway?

"Socialist" is a label that political conservatives and libertarians often try to pin on Democrats and liberals who are not in the Democratic Party (in the United States). Usually, the liberals simply laugh it off and the people who aren't knowledgeable about politics are content to accept their denials.

That's what has made what happened with Senator Barack Obama unique. The label "Socialist" is sticking like glue to Senator Obama. Now, a lot of conservatives and libertarians are shocked to discover that a lot of people living in this country really don't know what socialism is and they don't understand what is wrong with it anyway.

I am going to start posting material to address that in the next day or two.

Joseph Farah has a good piece in which he starts to answer 'What's wrong with socialism?'

Investor's Business Daily has a whole series on Senator Obama and socialism.

OhPruneJuice goes YouTubeing

Yes, I made the plunge. I created my first YouTube video. Hopefully, more are on the way.

My first attempt was inspired by Jay Leno. Ordinarily, I like Jay. He is one funny dOOd. However, recently, he had Senator Biden on and he was talking about Joe the Plumber. He said that he thought people probably were more afraid of plumbers than they are of terrorists.

I thought, "Now, that was really dumb. That totally distorts reality and could be used by Senator Obama to avoid serious issues and win the election.

Please, excuse my editing job. It was the very first time I did anything like this. If you would, spread it around to people you think could use it.

Anyway, here is my first video ever and my YouTube page:

By the way, OH PRUNE JUICE!!!

Are 401(k)s safe from congressional Democrats?

Short answer: No.

James Taranto. writing in the Wall Street Journal, says:

If you have a 401(k) or equivalent retirement plan, you've probably been watching nervously the past few weeks as your nest egg has shrunken owing to the current turmoil in the markets.

Well, it could be worse. But don't take heart, for what we mean is it could get worse. The market turmoil has some politicians on Capitol Hill eyeing the end of the 401(k) as we know it. Workforce Management reports on a hearing of the House Education and Labor Committee earlier this month:

A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered....

Under Ghilarducci's plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3 percent a year, adjusted for inflation.

The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated....

Read the rest of Taranto's piece in the Wall Street Journal

Now, doesn't a President Obama sound good right about now? Not a Republican in sight that could stop the Democrats' plan. That's mighty nice, indeed.

There is a little over a week to consider voting Republican.

Iran, one of America's enemies, Endorses Obama

Remember Iran? The country took 52 Americans hostage in the late 1970s for 444 days. Iran held the hostages for the rest of Jimmy Carter's presidency and within an hour of Ronald Reagan becoming the President, the hostages were released.

Anyway, Iran announced that Iran would prefer Senator Obama instead of Senator McCain.

Read Power Line's piece

Why do you think our enemies prefer Senator Obama?

Plumber Investigated More Than Presidential Candidate

This has REALLY bothered me ever since Joe the Plumber has asked Senator Obama his question. Joe was just an average guy, but once he inadvertently embarrassed the good Senator from Illinois, his fate was decided. Joe must be dealt with. Whether it was because the Obama campaign needed to distract the voters (so they wouldn't focus on the Senator's response) or it was merely meant as punishment, Joe's life was turned inside out for all of the world to see.

On the other hand, Senator Obama has several very troubling relationships that the voters are told we really don't need to know about. Issues like Williams Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, ACORN, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc., etc., etc. Naw, that's trivial stuff. What do you think he's doing? Running for the highest office in the country -- or in the world??? Naw, we don't need to know anything really.

Anyway. here is a piece by Pam Meister titled, "Joe the Plumber Vetted More Thoroughly Than Obama".

Coverage of McCain “heavily unfavorable”

Emily Belz, writing for World Magazine, says:
"The majority - 60 percent - of coverage of John McCain has been negative since the Republican convention. He wins the most negative press coverage over Barack Obama, or any candidates from other parties in this election, according to a report released today by The Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism, a nonpartisan journalism watchdog organization."
Read the rest of her piece.

IBD: Obama's Red Shirts

Obama's Red Shirts, a piece in Investor's Business Daily, starts off as follows:
Republican leaders want to defund and criminally investigate ACORN. Why should taxpayer dollars fund a "nonpartisan" organization that proclaims "Obama needs ACORN, and we need Obama."

That the greatest attempt at voter fraud in the nation's history is being funded in large part at taxpayer's expense is more than a bit ironic. House Minority Leader John Boehner wants it stopped and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, wants the group allegedly behind the fraud, ACORN, criminally investigated and prosecuted.

ACORN calls itself a "nonpartisan" group seeking to register minorities and the poor. But its political arm has endorsed Barack Obama, who both trained the group's staff and sued the state of Illinois on their behalf. And Obama's campaign has given ACORN affiliates $800,000 for a get-out-the-vote drive.

Are we going to listen to Biden's Warning?

Investor's Business Daily writes:
Like many others, we took it as another gaffe when Joe Biden said he expected Barack Obama to be "tested" shortly after taking office. But when he repeated it, we wondered: What's he trying to tell us?

Glib, voluble and unscripted, Sen. Biden is liable to say anything on a given day. That's why it pays to listen carefully to what he repeats — because it's obviously something he's thought about.

"Mark my words," Biden said in San Francisco last Saturday. "With the next, first six months of this administration, if we win, they're going to — we're going to face a major international challenge. Because they're going to want to test him, just like they did young John Kennedy. They're going to want to test him."

Then, the very next day in Seattle, he said: "Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy . . . Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the metttle of this guy."

Joe Biden might mean Iran

Hugh Hewitt, posted this :

Now we know what Joe Biden was talking about.

Voters may dismiss such reports, but Haaretz is the MSM of Israel. This isn't alarmism --it is confirmation of what Joe Biden predicted Sunday and what ought to be turning the stomachs of voters who worry --rightly-- that if elected Obama's nickname would be "President Blink."

NOW IS THE TIME to say NO to Senator Obama. Senator Biden has warned us all that international crises will come because the trouble makers of the world want to test Obama as President. Biden said, "Mark my words."

The easiest solution is to elect Senator McCain on November 4th.

WSJ: Obama Talks Nonsense on Tax Cuts

William McGurn, writing in the Wall Street Journal, says:
Now we know: 95% of Americans will get a "tax cut" under Barack Obama after all. Those on the receiving end of a check will include the estimated 44% of Americans who will owe no federal income taxes under his plan.

In most parts of America, getting money back on taxes you haven't paid sounds a lot like welfare. Ah, say the Obama people, you forget: Even those who pay no income taxes pay payroll taxes for Social Security. Under the Obama plan, they say, these Americans would get an income tax credit up to $500 based on what they are paying into Social Security.

Just two little questions: If people are going to get a tax refund based on what they pay into Social Security, then we're not really talking about income tax relief, are we? And if what we're really talking about is payroll tax relief, doesn't that mean billions of dollars in lost revenue for a Social Security trust fund that is already badly underfinanced?
Read the read of McGurn's article.

Boasting Weakness? Say what???

Investor's Business Daily has a good piece today. It begins as follows:
The latest in the endless series of gaffes from Obama running mate Joseph Biden is his warning that our enemies would test a President Obama early on. We need a president they would fear to test.

An early sign of the coming greatness of the Reagan presidency was that within an hour of the former actor's taking the oath of office, the Ayatollah Khomeini's Islamofascist regime in Iran released the 52 U.S. hostages it had been holding for 444 days.

Somehow, Ronald Reagan's lack of foreign policy experience didn't give Tehran the impression it would be a good idea to find out what he was made of; the mullahs already knew.

So why does Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joseph Biden think it's such a good idea to advertise that within months of taking office a President Obama would be faced with "a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy"?

Read the rest of this piece.

Scary is all I can say. Wait. I have something else that I can say. Vote McCain on November 4th.

Project Vote, partisan antics, and illegality

Michelle Malkin writes:
Well, lookee here. The New York Times, of all places, reports on an internal assessment of ACORN’s shady relationships with its affiliates and its inextricable ties to Obama’s old employers at Project Vote. For months, ACORN watchers have laid out the incestuous ties between the two groups.
Read the rest of Michelle's post.

Remember. If Senator Obama and ACORN are so willing to deprive Americans of their vote, just think of what else they are going to deprive you of if it serves their purposes.

Obama's tax "cuts" would actually hurt the middle class

Investor's Business Daily had an excellent audio presentation in their weekly podcast.

10/16/08: Tom McArdle on how Obama's tax "cuts" would actually hurt the middle class

It's really something how so many Americans believe a political lie. Tom McArdle rightly calls Senator Obama's promise to cut the taxes of 95% of all Americans a wealth transfer.

Boys and girls, can we say SOCIALISM?
