Otherwise almost NOBODY would believe it.

Robert F. Everything else is going to grow. However, defense is going to be cut by 55 billion.

However, what continually surprises me is even after September 11, Democrats still don't understand:

that people want to really hurt us

that our enemies tend to target big cities or anything big

that for the most part, there are more Democrats living in big cities than there are Republicans (see the election results)

If we are attacked again, it is likely that there will be just as many, if not more, Democrats who will get hurt in the attack than Republicans

One would think that average Democrats would get these points and actually want to protect themselves and their families.

Too bad, they are listening to Democratic leaders and other liberals such as most of what passes for the media INSTEAD of using common sense.

Have more than two children? He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

Yep, you read it right. In order to hold off Global Warming (a theory which is so in dispute -- check the temperature outside lately? check the amount of snow we have had this winter?), this British leader says that a family should limit themselves to TWO children! He further says that British society should encourage contraception and abortion.

Right now, it is merely a recommendation. But now that this moment has arrived, there is a question: How shall we judge our new leader?

If his presidency is to represent the full power of the idea that black Americans are just like everyone else -- fully human and fully capable of intellect, courage and patriotism -- then Barack Obama has to be subject to the same rough and tumble of political criticism experienced by his predecessors. To treat the first black president as if he is a fragile flower is certain to hobble him. It is also to waste a tremendous opportunity for improving race relations by doing away with stereotypes and seeing the potential in all Americans.

Yet there is fear, especially among black people, that criticism of him or any of his failures might be twisted into evidence that people of color cannot effectively lead. That amounts to wasting time and energy reacting to hateful stereotypes. It also leads to treating all criticism of Mr. Obama, whether legitimate, wrong-headed or even mean-spirited, as racist.

Read the rest of Juan Williams' piece.

There is always the filibuster. Right?

Speaking about the average American conservative is ready to handle the next four years as conservatives prepare to unseat the then-President Obama and the Democrats in BOTH Houses of Congress, Quin Hillyer writes:

Too many conservatives think we've seen all this before -- in 1964 and 1974 and 1992 -- and that we know how to handle it. Fly, meet ointment: We're not dealing with the same sorts of opponents. These New Alinskyites who are taking over the White House, combined with the most leftist congressional leadership in memory, will not let us play by the same rules under which conservatives recovered from those earlier debacles. They will try to drastically tilt the playing field, seed our side of the field with land mines and, in short, rig the process to make it next to impossible for the political right, or Republicans, to recover. And they are likely to succeed in at least some of these designs.

Read the rest of Hillyer's article.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ohprunejuice.blogspot.com/2008/11/there-is-always-filibuster-right.html' title='There is always the filibuster. And wouldn't you just know it, the San Francisco Chronicle alerted America that they had video of Senator Obama from January. When did the Chronicle do this? This weekend.

What did the video show? Not much. It simply has Senator Obama say that he will make it cost prohibitive to use coal. (You know coal is one of the chief ways that America produces electricity.)

Senator Obama says the price of electricity will "skyrocket" (his description, not ours).

It's a good thing that hardly anything runs on electricity. While talking (or even seemingly showing great respect) to the grown-up, the middle finger goes up either slightly disguised or behind the back of the grown-up.

Well, even though he has showered praises upon Hillary Clinton (his opponent in the primaries) and John McCain (his opponent in the general election), Senator Obama has given BOTH of his opponents "the" finger, "the bird" or "the one-finger salute".

In my opinion, the willingness publicly to give his political opponents the finger shows:

Senator Obama is able to and perfectly willing to wax eloquently on a subject (in these cases, praising his opponents) even when he certainly doesn't mean a word of it (or in these cases, he believes exactly the opposite).

Senator Obama has utter contempt for his political opponents (and I would dare say also for the people who support his opponents).

Far from being gracious, above all of the pettiness, dignified, distinguished, respectful, stately, and so on, Senator Obama himself has demonstrated that he is just the opposite.

Far from wanting to bring out the very best in those that he leads, Senator Obama seems to ridicule those that oppose him (in very crass and juvenile forms) and wants others to follow his example.

First, I will show his "dissing" Senator Clinton and then his "dissing" Senator McCain.

Watching him in these videos, there should be ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that this is exactly what Senator Obama is doing. Watch his attitude as he gives Hillary the finger.

I literally had a sick feeling as I saw it. It reminded me of my childhood watching the other kids mocking teachers or neighbors. (test)

The Right-Wing Extremist Test

If you watch a lot of TV like I do, you are bound to have come across people who talk about the Right-Wing or even Right-Wing Extremists. If you are like me, you really don’t want to be an extremist because it is (what’s the word, oh!) EXTREME!

Now, I have created a test that determines whether you are normal person or you are a Right-Wing Extremist.

1. If you see a pregnant woman’s ultrasound, do you:
a) strongly urge the woman to call Planned Parenthood to schedule an abortion?
b) say something like, “Awwwwwwwwwwww, isn’t she just the cutest thing. She’s even sucking her little thumb”?

2. If you see a tiny baby in a hospital or clinic who is in need of medical attention and is unattended, do you:
a) ignore him or her until he or she dies then throw the body into the garbage?
b) immediately get medical help for the baby in hopes of saving his or her life?

3. If you see a man dressed in a tuxedo in a wedding ceremony, do you:
a) naturally look for the man he is going to marry and upon seeing him, you smile?
b) naturally look for the bride (a woman) he is going to marry and upon seeing her, you smile?

4. If you hear that your neighborhood school is having its annual Christmas program in which the children sing Christmas carols the week before Christmas, do you:
a) immediately call the ACLU to help you sue the school?
b) wish you could come because you just love Jingle Bells and Silent Night?

5. If you see a man dressed in his military uniform, is your first thought to:
a) accuse him of war crimes and to spit on him?
b) thank him for his willingness to defend the United States and offer to buy his meal?

6. If you hear a politician talk favorably about “spreading the wealth around” or “making the rich pay their fair share”, you:
a) can’t wait to vote for him?
b) think “There’s definitely something wrong there. If the government can take the money and property of the rich, the government can take MY money and property and give it to other people”?

============== ASSESSMENT ===============

If you answer (a) for any or all of the questions, the Democratic Party considers you normal. You should be registered as a Democrat and vote for Democratic candidates.

However, if you answer (b) for any or all of the questions, the Democratic Party considers you a Right-Wing nut and extremist. You should be registered as a Republican and vote FOR Republican candidates.

* Created by Oh Prune Juice ( http://ohprunejuice.blogspot.com )

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ohprunejuice.blogspot.com/2008/10/are-you-right-wing-extremist-test.html' title='Are you a right-wing extremist? Usually, the liberals simply laugh it off and the people who aren't knowledgeable about politics are content to accept their denials.

That's what has made what happened with Senator Barack Obama unique. The label "Socialist" is sticking like glue to Senator Obama. Now, a lot of conservatives and libertarians are shocked to discover that a lot of people living in this country really don't know what socialism is and they don't understand what is wrong with it anyway.

I am going to start posting material to address that in the next day or two.

Joseph Farah has a good piece in which he starts to answer 'What's wrong with socialism?'

Investor's Business Daily has a whole series on Senator Obama and socialism.

OhPruneJuice goes YouTubeing

Yes, I made the plunge. However, recently, he had Senator Biden on and he was talking about Joe the Plumber. He said that he thought people probably were more afraid of plumbers than they are of terrorists.

I thought, "Now, that was really dumb. That totally distorts reality and could be used by Senator Obama to avoid serious issues and win the election.

Please, excuse my editing job. But don't take heart, for what we mean is it could get worse. The market turmoil has some politicians on Capitol Hill eyeing the end of the 401(k) as we know it. Workforce Management reports on a hearing of the House Education and Labor Committee earlier this month:

A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered....

Under Ghilarducci's plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3 percent a year, adjusted for inflation.

The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated....

Read the rest of Taranto's piece in the Wall Street Journal

Now, doesn't a President Obama sound good right about now? Joe was just an average guy, but once he inadvertently embarrassed the good Senator from Illinois, his fate was decided. Joe must be dealt with. Whether it was because the Obama campaign needed to distract the voters (so they wouldn't focus on the Senator's response) or it was merely meant as punishment, Joe's life was turned inside out for all of the world to see.

On the other hand, Senator Obama has several very troubling relationships that the voters are told we really don't need to know about. Why should taxpayer dollars fund a "nonpartisan" organization that proclaims "Obama needs ACORN, and we need Obama."

That the greatest attempt at voter fraud in the nation's history is being funded in large part at taxpayer's expense is more than a bit ironic. House Minority Leader John Boehner wants it stopped and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, wants the group allegedly behind the fraud, ACORN, criminally investigated and prosecuted.

ACORN calls itself a "nonpartisan" group seeking to register minorities and the poor. But its political arm has endorsed Barack Obama, who both trained the group's staff and sued the state of Illinois on their behalf. And Obama's campaign has given ACORN affiliates $800,000 for a get-out-the-vote drive.
Read the rest of this piece | Listen to this piece

Are we going to listen to Biden's Warning?

Investor's Business Daily writes:

Like many others, we took it as another gaffe when Joe Biden said he expected Barack Obama to be "tested" shortly after taking office. Those on the receiving end of a check will include the estimated 44% of Americans who will owe no federal income taxes under his plan.

In most parts of America, getting money back on taxes you haven't paid sounds a lot like welfare. Ah, say the Obama people, you forget: Even those who pay no income taxes pay payroll taxes for Social Security. Under the Obama plan, they say, these Americans would get an income tax credit up to $500 based on what they are paying into Social Security.

Just two little questions: If people are going to get a tax refund based on what they pay into Social Security, then we're not really talking about income tax relief, are we? It begins as follows:

The latest in the endless series of gaffes from Obama running mate Joseph Biden is his warning that our enemies would test a President Obama early on. We need a president they would fear to test.
An early sign of the coming greatness of the Reagan presidency was that within an hour of the former actor's taking the oath of office, the Ayatollah Khomeini's Islamofascist regime in Iran released the 52 U.S. hostages it had been holding for 444 days.

Somehow, Ronald Reagan's lack of foreign policy experience didn't give Tehran the impression it would be a good idea to find out what he was made of; the mullahs already knew.

So why does Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. I often am reminded of something in this or that movie when I see something in real life. That happened to me last week when I heard about Joe the Plumber and saw the progression of his story.

I am reminded of the phenomenon in which a large section of the population is intimidated to such an extent that they fear even making eye contact with the individual with the power or his supporters.

For example, in movies about brutal kings or dictators, there are always scenes with peasants cowering in fear avoiding eye contact with the dictator or members of the secret police. The peasants are just hoping that they can go one more day without being noticed.

They know that if they somehow embarrass or anger the dictator or his people, their lives will take a turn for the worse.

That's what we all saw happening in slow motion last week when Senator Obama came into the neighborhood where Joe the Plumber lived. Joe the Plumber embarrassed Senator Obama by getting him to admit that he is on some level a socialist.

Instead of addressing the real issue of being exposed as a socialist, Senator Obama, the people in his staff, the media, the entertainment industry, union workers and Democrats in general went to work destroying the reputation of Joe the Plumber.

The media is delving into Joe's life and is telling us things that we would probably not want people to know about us. For example, they are letting details of Joe's financial situation out.

Before we were told that most normal people don't go into politics because of the intense scrutiny that candidates have to go through. However, I think we need to modify that. People who don't want their lives turned upside down and inside out need to really think about being noticed by politicians and candidates Democratic Party along with any of their supporters.

Not only moose hunter around

Sarah Palin isn't the only hunter around. The offices of Nevada’s secretary of state and attorney general, both Democrats, seized computers, voter-registration cards, and employee information after Acorn submitted numerous fraudulent names and addresses as part of its voter-registration drive. “Some of these [forms] were facially fraudulent; we basically had the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys,” Ross Miller, Nevada’s secretary of state, explained. “Tony Romo is not registered to vote in Nevada.” Acorn’s Project Vote alleges that the raid is part of a nationally orchestrated effort to suppress voter turnout. “Project Vote has been attacked all over the country because we registered at least 1.2 million voters,” theorizes Nevada Acorn’s Bonnie Smith-Greathouse. “That could sway an election.”

And that’s just the point, argues John Fund in the updated and timely reissue of his Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy. Fund contends that recent changes in election laws have made it easier to “sway an election,” as Smith-Greathouse puts it—through cheating. “The United States has a haphazard, fraud-prone election system befitting a developing nation rather than the globe’s leading democracy,” Fund asserts. At times, Fund’s subject seems more fitting for a magazine exposé than for a book—until one confronts the sheer volume of examples he has compiled. Not only did Barack Obama savor Wright’s sermons, Obama gave legitimacy — and a whole lot of money — to education programs built around the same extremist anti-American ideology preached by Reverend Wright. And guess what? Bill Ayers is still palling around with the same bitterly anti-American Afrocentric ideologues that he and Obama were promoting a decade ago. All this is revealed by a bit of digging, combined with a careful study of documents from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the education foundation Obama and Ayers jointly led in the late 1990s.

John McCain, take note. Obama’s tie to Wright is no longer a purely personal question (if it ever was one) about one man’s choice of his pastor. The fact that Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Wright’s anti-Americanism means that this is now a matter of public policy, and therefore an entirely legitimate issue in this campaign.
Read the rest of Kurtz's excellent piece.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ohprunejuice.blogspot.com/2008/10/wright-101-obama-funded-extremist.html' title='Wright 101 Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Rev. Despite all the predictions and polls, John McCain and Barack Obama are locked in an extremely close race for President of the United States. McCain made a furious comeback over the previous 3 weeks following the last debate where Obama fumbled several answers while looking tired.

McCain's momentum propelled him back into the race and in a furious last minute charge that involved spending more than $25 million in combined campaign and Republican National Committee ad money that last weekend surged to within just a few points of Obama by Election Day.

Now, at 6:00 AM the following day, the race hangs on the results in just one state; Ohio. McCain leads by nearly 50,000 votes but suddenly, Ohio's Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner announces that several thousand McCain absentee ballots have been disqualified while additional thousands of votes in Cuyahoga County were "discovered" to have not been counted. After several more hours of confusion -- which included the discovery of more uncounted votes in heavily Democratic counties by the Secretary of State -- McCain's lead is gone and Obama is declared the winner of Ohio and the election.

Of course, this scenario is not credible, is it? No Secretary of State would act so brazenly, right?

Read the rest of Rick's piece.

For more blog posts regarding actual storied about voter fraud, click on "voter faud" in the label section.

ACORN and Voter Fraud: The Saga Continues

Power Line writes:

This is one of those news stories you can hardly believe. In Lake County, Indiana, ACORN turned in 5,000 new registrations. The authorities there started reviewing them, and quit after they found that the first 2,100 were all fraudulent. Here is CNN's report:

Read the rest of the piece

What Did Pelosi Know, And When Did She Know It?

Hugh Hewitt links to a ABC News story and writes:

Democratic Congressman Tim Mahoney has a sex scandal on his hands, and democratic leadership may have been complicit in the cover-up, according to ABC News' Brian Ross.

The irony: Mahoney took disgraced Republican Mark Foley's seat in 2006. You might think this is splitting hairs, but I believe the reason is that these relationships scare the daylights out of us.

Conservatives were very much opposed to Bill Clinton for myriad reasons, but with decades in elective office in Arkansas, at least he wasn't a stealth candidate. Though rumors and mysteries abounded, Clinton was hardly a blank slate who emerged out of nowhere.

Obama is different. He burst onto the political scene and has risen with such alacrity that even many of his supporters don't have a clue what he's about or where he would take America.

It's no wonder the conspiracy types are whispering that he's the Manchurian candidate. It's not as if he's embracing his past; it's more as if he's concealing it, and for good reason. People have a right to know just how radical this man is because America's destiny is in the balance.

That's exactly it. For the longest time, we hardly knew anything about Senator Obama. And we are being told that we should simply choose Obama without really knowing his full history. Imagine what we would do if this was any other area of life.

For example, let's you were buying a used car. Would you feel like were on solid ground if you went home to your spouse and said, "Honey, I bought a terrific car. It's RED!!! And you have to hear the horn on it! The horn makes the most beautiful sound I have ever heard."

Your spouse then asks you some questions about it. "How many miles does it have on it?" "How many people have owned it before you bought it?" "Are you sure it wasn't a rental car?" "Darling, were you able to inspect it or see any of the documentation on it before you paid for it?"

I don't think you would tell your spouse, "Hey, the used car salesman said you would say exactly those things!!! He said that you must have a thing against RED CARS!!!"

No, of course not.

Well, as more things started coming out about Senator Obama, a lot of people were becoming increasingly disturbed about what we were learning.

Read the rest of David Limbaugh's column.

Obama, ACORN & Their Starring Role in the Mortgage Crisis

In a piece from October 10th, Frank Salvato writes:

Barack Obama, congressional Democrats and Progressive-Left operatives – with the help of the mainstream media – have done a great job of spinning culpability for the mortgage crisis onto the Bush Administration, congressional Republicans and, in particular, John McCain. This is a notable moment in the history of political spin because as the facts present, Democrats and Progressive-Leftists – not Republicans –are the ones directly responsible for the current financial crisis in which our country is embroiled. At the center of this culpability are Barack Obama and ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

In order to understand how Barack Obama and ACORN are directly to blame for the mortgage meltdown, we first have to understand what ACORN is and how Barack Obama was affiliated with them...and make no mistake; Barack Obama was most definitely affiliated with ACORN.
Read the rest of what Salvato has written.

Questions about Senator Obama's past and even his citizenship

In an article titled "This could be the Game Changer," Thomas Lifson talks about a YouTube video that could have a big impact on the election. In this video, Molotov Mitchell says he is calling on Senator Obama to produce his birth certificate.

Why? Well, the U.S. Constitution states very explicitly that in order for an individual to be eligible to become the President of the United States, he (or she) has to be a natural-born citizen.

This should be extremely easy for the Obama campaign to settle once and for all. Just produce the Senator's birth certificate.

Any way, here is the video by Molotov Mitchell.

I think the American Thinker is correct when it says:

It may be the case that Berg is completely wrong. If so, the Obama campaign could have submitted documentation to the court quashing this case. Instead, it has chosen to engage in a legal strategy of delay. Why would they do this if Obama's documentation were in order? Why would they only provide electronic (so far as I know) copies to friendly sources? Regardless of your political persuasion, I want to recommend watching it.

What struck me is really how little we know about Senator Obama's past. I don't know about you, but I get suspicious when someone tries to hide his past. Oh, I know. There is sometimes a very legitimate reason to keep one's past secret. For instance, if one is doing very sensitive work for the government or the military, it might be required.

However, when an ordinary citizen, which Senator Obama was, does that, well, it makes me suspicious what he has to hide.

It always struck me odd that some individuals of the media went to such lengths even to go to Viet Nam and tracked down Senator McCain's captors when he was a prisoner of war. The media actually interviewed them!!!

Why aren't the media going to that trouble to investigate Senator Obama's life like they do with Senator McCain? Was there some doubt in those individuals' minds about what Senator McCain was doing during those five long years?

Aren't the citizens interested in what Senator Obama did during these many years? I know I am.

Anyway, here is Sean Hannity's program.

Part 1 of Hannity's America

Part 2 of Hannity's America

Part 3 of Hannity's America

Part 4 of Hannity's America

Part 5 of Hannity's America

Part 6 of Hannity's America

Who is this Ayers guy anyway?

It's easy to be swayed by the spin that Senator Obama's supporters create for our consumption. A lot of us weren't even around in the 60s and 70s when the United States experienced tremendous turmoil.

A lot of us never even heard the other side's perspective either. When we hear people talk about the 60s, we think about hippies who just wanted to live in peace with everyone. We think about people who just wanted to be free to do their own thing. "Free love." "Make love, not war." "Flower power." We think of people using psychedelic drugs intended to bring about mind-blowing "religious experiences".

Harmless stuff, mostly. At least, we say, those activities really don't harm anyone who doesn't chose to live that way. It doesn't harm anyone else.

When we hear this stuff about Senator Obama being connected somehow with Bill Ayers, our response might be, "What's the big deal? I don't even know who this Ayers guy is anyway." I think that if you do take the time to actually find out, you definitely won't be thinking that any more.

I hope you do watch this YouTube video. It is made up of both old and new video clips of news footage and interviews.

The thing that a lot of us are asking is this. Using provisions of a 1977 law called the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Chicago ACORN was able to delay and halt the efforts of banks to merge or expand until they had agreed to lower their credit standards — and to fill ACORN’s coffers to finance “counseling” operations like the one touted in that Sun-Times article. This much we’ve known. Yet these local, CRA-based pressure-campaigns fit into a broader, more disturbing, and still under-appreciated national picture. Far more than we’ve recognized, ACORN’s local, CRA-enabled pressure tactics served to entangle the financial system as a whole in the subprime mess. ACORN was no side-show. On the contrary, using CRA and ties to sympathetic congressional Democrats, ACORN succeeded in drawing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into the very policies that led to the current disaster.
Read the rest of Kurtz's piece: Planting Seeds of Disaster: ACORN, Barack Obama, and the Democratic party.

IBD: Is ACORN Stealing The Election?

Investor's Business Daily has a piece demonstrating why ACORN's efforts are so dangerous to the electoral process. In the first part, Dr. Sowell writes:

Critics of Senator Barack Obama make a strategic mistake when they talk about his "past associations." That just gives his many defenders in the media an opportunity to counter-attack against "guilt by association."

We all have associations, whether at the office, in our neighborhood or in various recreational activities. Most of us neither know nor care what our associates believe or say about politics.

Associations are very different from alliances. Allies are not just people who happen to be where you are or who happen to be doing the same things you do. You choose allies deliberately for a reason. The kind of allies you choose says something about you.

Read the rest of part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4.

Who Did You Know, Sen. Aides say that's an illustration of a truly democratic campaign. To critics, though, it can be an invitation for fraud and illegal foreign cash because donors giving individual sums of $200 or less don't have to be publicly reported. Consider the cases of Obama donors "Doodad Pro" of Nunda, N.Y., who gave $17,130, and "Good Will" of Austin, Texas, who gave more than $11,000—both in excess of the $2,300-per-person federal limit. In two recent letters to the Obama campaign, Federal Election Commission auditors flagged those (and other) donors and informed the campaign that the sums had to be returned.

Read the full article "Obama's 'Good Will' Hunting" by Michael Isikoff.

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools

In the Wall Street Journal dated SEPTEMBER 23th, 2008, there is an op-ed piece titled, "Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools".
